It is the ultimate understatement. "For the Scripture says, 'Whoever believes in Him will not be disappointed.' " (Romans 10.11; Isaiah 28.16)

Many things in life don't live up to expectations. The dream job was less than satisfying. The happy marriage wasn't. The new car, boat, or house wasn't as good as expected.

This much is certain: no one will declare, on resurrection day, that immortality and life in the kingdom of God is less than
expected. It will far exceed even the greatest expectations!

Life in Christ today certainly has its ups and downs, because that's the nature of life in the fallen world. That ought not to be surprising because such is to be expected:
"Through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God." (Acts 14.22) But, it is inconceivable to imagine that God and Christ will not deliver on their promises. Unlike political campaign promises, there will be no disappointment when the anticipated time comes. As His disciples resolutely believed and declared,  "that He may send Jesus, the Christ appointed for you, whom heaven must receive until the period of restoration of all things about which God spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets from ancient time." (Acts 3.20-21)

None who have come to believing faith in God through Christ will be ultimately disappointed. The reassuring inner presence of Holy Spirit today lovingly reminds us of what is to come. Savor that inner reminder today, and live with zeal and optimism at what is to come.
