It's not a very pretty picture. Every time an angel blows a trumpet, some terrible cataclysm is unleashed upon the earth. Such is the picture we see in the Book of Revelation. But, a final seventh trumpet will sound and what it unleashes will be worth it all:
"but in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound, then the mystery of God is finished, as He preached to His servants the prophets." (Revelation 10:7)
There is an exciting picture for us to see when we piece this verse together with several others. For example,
"Then the seventh angel sounded; and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, "The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ; and He will reign forever and ever." And the twenty-four elders, who sit on their thrones before God, fell on their faces and worshiped God, saying, "We give You thanks, O Lord God, the Almighty, who are and who were, because You have taken Your great power and have begun to reign "And the nations were enraged, and Your wrath came, and the time came for the dead to be judged, and the time to reward Your bond-servants the prophets and the saints and those who fear Your name, the small and the great, and to destroy those who destroy the earth." (Revelation 11:15-18).
Also,
"Behold, I tell you a mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed." (1 Corinthians 15:51-52)
A day is coming when a final trumpet blast will sound, and all of God's plan will be brought to completion. The completion of this plan, to be brought about through Jesus the Christ, was the message proclaimed by the 1st-century church: "whom heaven must receive until the period of restoration of all things about which God spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets from ancient time." (Acts 3:21)
With abrupt suddenness a final trumpet will one day sound to bring to full completion God's plan of the ages. Everything is prologue in preparation for that time and event.
Are you living today with an awareness of the reality of the coming trumpet blast? Today is a day of preparation; a day to live according to spiritual priorities. The suddenness of the trumpet blast will afford no opportunity for the preparations that need to be made today.
May we each live life today as though this were the day of the blowing of the final trumpet.

The Twenty-four Elders - Naming Names
Revelation’s twenty-four elders declare that they have been redeemed out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; they also declare that God has made them KINGS and PRIESTS and that they shall reign on the earth (Re.5:9-10 below).
I believe that the twenty-four elders came out of every nation referenced to at Acts 2:9-10:
Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia, Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and Rome, Cretes and Arabians.
If the twenty-four priests referenced in the Old Testament at 1 Chronicles 24:7-18 are from every nation under heaven (Acts 2:5 below), as are Revelation’s twenty-four elders, then I believe that these priests of old ARE the twenty-four elders out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation (Re.5:9 below) seen in heaven in the book of Revelation.
If that is so, we then know the names of the twenty-four elders of the book of Revelation - Jehoiarib, Jedaiah, Harim, Seorim, Malchijah, Mijamin, Hakkoz, Abijah, Jeshua, Shecaniah, Eliashib, Jakim, Huppah, Jeshebeab, Bilgah, Immer, Hezir, Aphses, Pethahiah, Jehezekel, Jachin, Gumul, Delaiah, Maaziah. (1 Chron.24:7-18)
I believe that the devout Jews dwelling at Jerusalem who were out of every nation under heaven (Acts 2:5 below) at the day of Pentecost (Acts 2:3-11 below) are the "many" who were raised out of their graves after the Lord's resurrection, who then went into the holy city, Jerusalem, and appeared unto many (Matt.27:52-53 below), the "many" who were raised out of their graves being the twenty-four elders seen in heaven in the book of Revelation at Re.4:4, Re.5:8-10, Re.11:16, Re.19:4, below.
The twenty-four elders will be KINGS and PRIESTS in the “new” earth (Isa.65:17, Re.21:1, Re.21:24, Re.21:26-27).
Twenty-Four Elders -
Re.4:4 And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold.
Re.5:8 And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders (Re.4:4 above) fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.
Re.5:9 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God (the Father) by thy blood (Jesus) out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;
Re:5:10 And hast made us unto our God KINGS AND PRIESTS: and we shall reign on the earth.
Re.11:16 And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats (Re.4:4 above), fell upon their faces, and worshipped God,
Re.19:4 And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia.
Every Nation under Heaven -
Acts 2:3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues (languages – Acts 2:6, 8 below), as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Acts 2:5 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of EVERY nation (Acts 2:9-10 below) under heaven.
Acts 2:6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language (tongue – Act.2:8 below).
Acts 2:7 And they (the multitude – Acts 2:6 above) were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?
Acts 2:8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue (language – Acts 2:6, 11), wherein we were born (Acts 2:9-11 below)?
Acts 2:9 Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,
Acts 2:10 Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes,
Acts 2:11 Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues (languages – Acts 2:6, 8 above) the wonderful works of God.
Matt.27:52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,
Matt.27:53 And came out of the graves after his (Jesus') resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.
In the “new” Earth -
Isa. 65:17 For, behold, I create NEW heavens and a NEW earth (Re.21:1 above): and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.
Re.21:1 And I saw a NEW heaven and a NEW earth (Isa.65:17, Re.21:5): for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away (Re.20:11, Dan.2:35, 2 Pe.3:10-13); and there was no more sea (Dan.7:3, Dan.7:17, Isa.66:24).
Re.21:24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and THE KINGS OF THE EARTH do bring their glory and honour into it.
Re.21:26 And they (the kings of the earth – Re.21:24 above) shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it. (the city)
Re.21:27 And there shall in no wise enter into it (the city) any thing that defileth, neither [whatsoever] worketh abomination, or [maketh] a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.
